I'm fairly sure this shouldn't be an issue, but best to check.
We have a fleece hidey house in the cage which the two piggies almost never use (preferring to hide and sleep in hay stuffed into wooden tunnels, or just piles of hay). However, one of the boys likes to use the fleece hidey as a loo. He'll go in, pee, poop, sit for a minute, then leave. While he's there however he invariably nibbles the lip of the fleece until he gets a thread of fleece, then he'll pull that thread out, eat it, and that's that. Back to his hay.
He'll just do this once per day, it's not a constant or really regular thing.
Is it okay for a guinea pig to ingest the odd thread of fleece or should this be discouraged?
