Hello, just wondering can you use fleece in a pet shop cage? I am getting my c&c cage in september/october and I already have some fleece bought for it.

My guinea pig is kept in a pet shop cage, can you use fleece in it or will i just wait till i get the c&c cage?

Also can you cut fleece? I got fleece blankets which are 100% polyestor. I got them from a supermarket/homeware store named dunnes stores. Cut I cut this down to size? Or would I have to hem it?

Yes, you can.

I find it most useful to use the same underlay as in you'd do in a C&C cage and to trap the fleece between to bottom tray and the metal top, so the piggies can't burrow and you do not have to cut down any fleece. It looks a bit messy, but as it's only temporary, it works out extremely well!

I always have a spare cage at the ready for illness, injuries or if I have to take a piggy (or two) on meds with me if I'm away for a weekend.
