Hi from Canada.

I am currently using Pine shavings with a puppy pad like pad (its made for small animals not dogs). But I find that unless I got to a feed mill that sells pine for horse stalls I pay way to much for my three little ones. My kids have a million fleece blankets so I don't think they'll mind giving some up for the families little piggies.

But how much do I use? 1 or 2 layers? This is the part that looses me.

Thanks
Erin and her three piggies.

I would say one fleece folded in half would do with a layer of newspaper underneath as the wee goes straight through! You should change the paper each day and wash fleece twice a week!

Great! I plan on still using those puppy like pads, It works out perfect because today is change days and I can just do it today! :D thanks. We'll see how it does.

Haha, I changed over everything. My daughter was happy with giving the girls her heart fleece blanket, and since she can't have any softener due to allergies I was able to put it on right away. Then I went threw my sons old baby blankets and there was some in there for my male piggie. My girls keep lifting the fleece up... but they are chatting away to each other. My male Pickle has dumped his food as usual. BUT on the plus I'm not worried cause the food isn't being lost in the shavings! YAY!

By the way does anyone use shamwows? I think they would be perfect for under the fleece. I have to wash mine but if anyone has tried it let me know if it went well. I'd love to know.

I've not used Shamwow myself, but I think the general consensus is quite mixed. Here's a link with some info for you to have a read through other's experiences :) Shamwow discussions!
