Hi there you lovely lot.

I've come across detox laundry cleanser on my shopping travels. It claims to kill bacteria at 30 degrees. Has anyone tried this on their fleece items. I thought it might save my stuff from major shrinkage but not sure whether I completely trust it. Any thoughts?

Hmmmmm I like heat to be honest with you. Be interested to here views on this though, would help with shrinking wouldn't it! Luckily we fold our fleece, but hot washes destroyed liners in the past.

My cosies and fur tunnels say to was at 30 but as they are polyester fibre and cotton I've been washing them at 40 (I am such a rebel) inside an old pillow case. Still don't think it's hot enough though. I always finish off with a last rinse of white vinegar. I'd be interested in learning about dettox too.

Are we talking about the Dettol laundry sanitizer liquid as i'm a bit confused by the title and the detox and the dettox? I pour some in with the fleece when I wash it, I wash in hot water but I don't know the temperature exactly just that it is hot but can't be to hot as the fleece has never shrunk. The dettol leaves a bit of a smell when it is still wet but I can never smell it once the fleece has dried. I also add white vinegar to the rinse cycle to.

I have this product and put two capfuls in the conditioner draw,so it works with the last rinse,it has saved my new liners as the others shrinked 2inches when washed at 60 degrees.also i use halo washing liquid, paragon do a laundry detergent that is recommended for pet blankets for small animals,it cleans, eridicates fungal spores.viruses, bacteria at 30 degrees, but this has the same ingredients as Halo washing liquid.i aslo occasionally use napisan which you add to the detergent,it is two pound fifty in wilkos.

I use it, however I usually pop the stuff through another rinse after that. It means my liners can go on a 40degree wash.

I have Vetfleece which can go through a hotter wash but should I still be using something like Paragon if it kills fungal spores?

I wash my Vetbed twice a day. I just wash on a 30 degree quick wash with a splash of washing liquid and some soda crystals.

I also prefer to do an additional rinse after using a laundry disinfectant; however, the vast majority laundry disinfectants rely on anionic surfacants, which means they need to stay 10-20 minutes in contact with the laundry to be effective, so I do the additional rinse some time after the disinfectant rinse.

I also like to occasionally wash at 95 degrees just in case - fleece, incontinence pads, zorb, fleece tunnels and beds, everything. I've never had any problems except for a few faded fleeces (I use detergent for whites, since it's more disinfecting than the ones for colours).

Is the Halo the advertised to wash sportswear? I want to order correct one!

I wash everything at 60c with just normal liquid detergent. It's all homemade stuff, liners, tunnels, beds etc and nothing has shrunk :D

@Janice C ,yes it is halo, sportswear is just as good,i bought some in sainsburies for 4 pounds,25 washes.vetbed is much better for recieving high temp washes than fleece liners !
