I have 4 guinea-pigs and am getting another soon. They all live in seperate hutches (3 boys don't get on - one lone sow, I'm getting her a friend soon) and I wanted to get some fleece accessories to give them something to keep them warm. My guinea-pigs are bedded on woodshavings and I have one cozy for them. The one that usually has the cozy, Billy, kicks a lot of woodshavings all over it and pees on it, but he does like to lay on it and in it after I've washed it because I put it on the radiator for him, and he likes it because its warm. I like the look of those little guinea-pig armchairs and I'd love to get a couple for my guinea-pigs because they don't look like they take up as much space as igloos and they look quite comfy for the guinea-pigs. I'm just worried the guinea-pigs wont use them or they'll pee on them :( Do your guinea-pigs use their armchairs? I'm thinking of buying one, see how they are with it and if they just pee all over it I might get them something else. Can you suggest any other guinea-pig accessories and fleecey things? Does anyone have fleece things in a hutch/cage that has woodshavings in it? Do you have any problems with it being covered in woodshavings or hay?

I have two armchairs for my boys and they love them! They sit in them all day long and it's so cute seeing them spread out on them. But my pigs are housed indoors and on fleece so i dont have a problem with bedding getting on them, but they do collect alot of hair on the chairs and its easy to remove, i clean them daily from hair and wash them once a week or when needed.

When i used megazorb i did have two small fleece cosies and the megazorb did get on the bottom and sometimes inside them, but it was really easy to brush off, so I'm sure that the bedding you use will be the same.

Mine dont wee in their armchairs/cosies but sometimes the bottom bit is damp as they pee off the chair, they are very clever and hang their bottom over the edge and pee onto the fleece thats near the chair, if you get what i mean? Sometimes odd bits of poo get on the chair but nothing major, they love them too much to wee/poo on them. :))

I have only once (a few years ago) given mine cosies in their hutches & they were used as toilets :))

If they are outside i'd not use anything that may be wee'd because in autumn/winter it will become cold & damp quite quickly.
My pigs don't have pigloos as some were getting condensation on the roofs, i now use childrens stools (cost £1 from B&M or Instore) but in winter i cover them with fleece blankets to add warmth & the pigs have lots & lots of hay to burrow into :)

My pigs live outside in hutches within their shed :)
