snowy/twinkle

I have been using the traditional woodshavings newspaper and hay combo since getting my four pigs 6 months ago. I have found it to be extremly messy with large amounts of bedding ending on my garage floor. My pig family has doubled since tuesday with the birth of 4 lovely pups. i was dreading cleaning the hutches but after reading some posts i bought some fleece blankets and lined the hutches with old towels with the blankets on top. They love their new bedding and all i have to do is shake the blankets out and pop them and the towels in the wash. thankyou for the idea. I will never dread cleaning out again.:))

I have recently changed one of my boys to fleece with a layer of megazorb underneath. He seems to love it and it is so much easier to wash than vet bed . The forum is great for picking up great tips like this

my girls spent one whole week on megazorb before changing to fleece. I will never go back...it is so easy to clean...i sweep every other day with a small broom/pan and then change it when the wee gets too much....Fleece is definately cuter too!

My guinea pig robbie has always been on woodshavings and hay but I am seriously thinking in investing in some fleeces now and trying that with newspaper or towels underneath. He has been with me about 2/3 years now, do you think it is ok to just change him over, he might get a bit upset and wonder what the fleece is lol. Also he has a terrible habit of sitting in one place and weeing and then getting wet....not all the time I might add, just now and then, is the fleece a lot more absorbant?

Joy xx
