can I use any fleece blanket for them. I.e. A Peppa pig one of the children's and put it in their hutch sleeping area? Thanks

Yes, you can, as long as it has been washed a few times in hot water with detergent but no fabric softener. My girls regularly use an old Fimbles blanket and a Thomas one (from when my lads were young).

Great thank you. This is a pink striped one it has been washed. My son didn't want me to cut the peppa one up lol but they loved it in the box. So I just cut a strip off the pink one and popped it in the bedding area inside the shoe box that's in there. Maybe not enough but have now cut the rest up so I have a few.

Are you also able to tell me how often I need to change it? Daily or every other or less?

Thanks.

I change mine every three days x

I change mine twice each week. I wash it at 60degrees to kill bacteria and I use vinegar in the rinse instead of fabric softener. I have a horsewear wash bag that I put the fleece into in the machine. It catches all the hair and hay and keeps it from clogging up the machine.

I have finally got one of those wash bags so hopefully no more hair in my washing machine lol

Thanks. Already I notice the hay sticks to it like crazy! She only has a small piece for now in with the hay. But it smells of her sister so I don't want to wash it quite yet x

I use a combination of cage liners and vet bed. Only had the guinea pigs a day so not sure how often I will be cleaning it yet. They also have a 32l underbed storage box with newspaper, fitch bedding and a moutain of hay.

Pumpkin is inside but in her hutch just till Thursday when I will get her a friend then she will be outside again.

Are cage miners like puppy pads? And where did you get the vet bed? Thank you.

Cage liners are made from a layer of fleece, an absorbent layer and another layer of fleece all sewn together.

I got my vetbed from ebay. I get the green backed stuff.
