Hello!

I am in the process of getting materials together to build a C&C Cage. Most likely will be doing it this saturday.

Ive been thinking of using fleece instead of the paper bedding i buy at the store. I live in NYC so we dont have washing machines in our apartments, we go out to do the laundry do i really have to wash the fleece 3 to 4 time before giving it to the piggys? lolim not lazy (I PROMISE) lol i just dont have the time to go out 3 to 4 times during this week to wash the fleece.

It just means that it won't wick as quickly and so you'll need to change it more often at first.

Would you be able to get a few spare fleeces and maybe change it every other day for a few weeks? You could still just take them to be washed weekly. It would just mean that the amount of washing would be bigger for a little while.

Then in 3-4 weeks it should be wicked okay and you can change it less often.

I only did mine twice as I ran out of time. It wasn't too much of a problem, as mentioned above, I just had to change it a bit more often in the first few weeks.

I only did mine once. They mostly wee in their hay trays so it wasnt a problem.

So this means that you have to be changing the hay constantly no? isnt that wasting a lot of good hay?

I change the hay every few days and top it up about three times a day, just a handful here and there. They get lots of freshly picked grass too.

I also use hay racks above the hay trays. That way they always have fresh hay that hasn't been soiled. I put more in there than I do in the trays.
