Hi, I'm just wondering does anyone use fleece bedding (with towels/newspaper underneath) in outdoor hutches or sheds? Does it stay dry/warm enough (if I add some cosy beds)?
I was reading about how much guinea pigs love it, and my hutches have plastic coated floors, so even though I use woodshavings (and hay in the sleeping area) they slide on the floor is they get spooked and run. Also, I spend a lot of money on woodshavings, and I'd prefer to clean the hutches every day, but can only afford to clean them every 3 days because of how expensive the wood shavings are. (Well to an unemployed student with 20 pets . . . )
I might try to litter train the guinea pigs too, but dunno how successful that'll be It's be handy though because my rabbits are litter trained so their litter trays get cleaned every day, and I love nice clean hutches/runs!
Also if anyone knows if this method of bedding is good for rabbits (as in will they just mess up all the fleec and towels and then eat them!) then let me know.
Thanks
