hi! I'm a new guinea pig owner and i wnat to know how often i should wash fleece bedding? thanks! ( and any tips on cleaning )

You have to make sure it’s wicking (liquid soaks through to leave top dry) before you first use it. If you poop sweep every day, maybe you could go 3-4 days max before you change it. I sometimes change it every week, if I have put some bath mats on top of the fleece.

I’d advise you get a horse wash bag if washing in a machine. That way the hairs and hay remaining on it are caught in the bag rather than the machine. You can always brush/hoover the fleece before you pop it in as well.

I poop pick twice a day and do a full change once a week. I change the top fleeces about 3 - 4 times a week depending how much they smell or look grubby... horse wash bags are a must for washing... make sure u have a few spare sets - makes life easier!

I clean up poops around 5-7 times per pay (not sure why, just how i started out 😂) and then I wash the fleece once a week. I think the size of your cage/fleece depends on how often you should clean it

Welcome.

Mine use their hay trays as their bathrooms so most of their poop and pee end up in their hay trays. I empty their hay trays every 2-3 days, wash them, and spray with vinegar water to kill the bacteria in the hay trays.

Their fleece beddings get changed and washed every 5 days. I use detergent and hand wash the fleece beddings, then soak them in vinegar water to kill all the bacteria in the fleece beddings. I also wash and soak their food dish, toys, and blankets in the vinegar water.
