I have a cat fleece radiator bed that is not used any more. It has not been used for over 18 months. I am thinking of putting it through the washing machine and making a snuggle / hide or something to put in the cage. It is nice and thick fleece. Would it be ok to make something with, even though cats have used it in the past and it will be washed ?
Any suggestions would be nice or would only be good for a dustbin fodder ?

Well I'm sure it would be! My dog get al over my piggies things and put her scent all over it! They don't mind and use it like normal so yes yu can use it after its been washed... :)

Hope This Helped :)

Thanks. I will make something out of it. Hope it turns out good. I have not sewn for over 30 years. lol. If I unpick it, and sew the long edges together, I could put wire in the ends and make a long tunnel. Do guineas like cloth tunnels, or do they prefer to see the end of a tunnel when they go in. May be a daft question as I know they cant see an opening when they go into a burrow in the wild. lol

Well Piggies Are prey animals so They like to have multiple exits and a long tunnel would be a great idea and since pigs don't have the best eye sight it doesn't really matter lol, but it also depends on if your piggies like to hide alot or not :)

Thanks. Pip like to hide a lot. She has a carpet tube in her cage that she hides in. She had a house I made, but stopped going in it, favouring hiding under a mound of hay.

It should be ok to use providing you wash it at high heat (60 degrees) to kill any germs.
