How do you wash yours?

Do you machine wash it or handwash?

I also only have biological washing powder will this be ok?

I'm afraid that if I put it in the washing machine it will make it dirty when I want to wash my clothes?

I use vetbed and just wash it as normal in the washing machine. I dont know about the powder but I know that its recommended to not use softener. I take the vetbed into the garden and hit it to remove the excess hay, wood shavings etc before putting it in washer ;)

I haven't got around to buying the vet bed yet so at the momment they have an old large fleece blanket.

The best way to clean Fleece bedding and try and save any wear and tear on your washing machine is to pop your bedding in an old duvet cover or WashBag. If you use an old duvet cover just remember to tie the top of it, either in a knot or use an old hair band or similar (elastic bands tend to break up so avoid those)

So long as the bedding is well rinsed after the initial wash (do not use fabric conditioner!) it shouldn't really matter, but depending on the size of the bedding and the size of your drum you might want to put it through a couple of rinse cycles if you are concerned about the cleansing agent you are using.

I use either Soapnuts or Ecover Non Bio but at a push I will admit that the Ariel Gel stuff has been used! (at least 2 rinses)

If you are struggling with nasty niffs you can add a small amount of white vinegar to the last rinse.
