So, I need to cover a 6x2 cage, so its 2165mm x 690mm (or there abouts)

I'm planning on bulk buying fleece, and have come across 'Incontinence Washable Bed Pad' @ amazon, I'm thinking long term, so trying to avoid the disposable kind, and I'll have towels as a back up anyway.

Aiming at Cage Liners hence putting mother to work as she has a sewing machine, I 'could' do it by hand, but nope.

Anyone else gone the washable route ?

Absolutely - All my cage stuff is washable, and I can see how quickly I would get through things like disposable puppy pads if I used them.
I think the initial set up can be a bit more expensive, but in the long run I think it will easily pay for itself.
Plus I have a thing about minimizing how much stuff I throw out each week.
In Switzerland you pay for the rubbish you throw away per bag - a 35 liter rubbish bag costs over 2 pounds, which does make you hyper aware of how much you throw away.

I hand sewed two cage liners and various extra pads for hidies. My two sows also have a 32 litre storage box with hemp bedding and loads of hay and a pound shop litter tray with the same.

How wonderful to have the help of a mother and sewing machine!

indeed it is very handy having my mother on hand, she used to work as a seamstress about 30 yrs ago and her love for a sewing machine has always been there.
I should really have that skill learnt myself by now being mid 30's but, but I'm more of a DIY person myself.

But will do anything for our little pigs :D
