I am getting sick of Papelit, it is expensive and doesn't seem to last long. My first order seemed to soak up more and last longer but the batch that I am using just now has been rubbish! It also doesn't appear to be very comfortable for piggy feet.

I am looking at Fitch. I have been doing online surveys and have made £9 so far but need to make another £1.50 to get an Amazon voucher which I could put towards the Fitch.

It will only be in 3 litter trays and not in the whole cage :)

Is it really as absorbent as people claim?
Will it last longer than Papelit?

Thanks :)

@maxdawn I'm thinking that it would be easier to spot clean than Papelit as it is white and more flat, am I right?

I don't know what papelit is like but Fitch is great and yes it is white and you can see where they have weed.
I've got another thread going to try and share purchases to get the cheaper price and it has a photo of it in my cage. The photo might be of use to you?

Also, use that amazon voucher first but in the future if you want more then pls feel free to add your details to that thread.

Not used it for the pigs but there is no smell from my hamsters who are on it, even from Harriet who generally has stinky wee.

I've been usinf fitch for a week now and I think it's great! Definitly easy to spot the bits that need removing easily and it does seem to absorb well. It's not flat though, it's lumpy but soft lumps if that makes sense.

That makes sense! The Papelit is in pellet shapes and the pig poop falls through the gaps making them hard to pick out ¬_¬

I love Fitch - use to get megazorb but that's too damp and smells musty to me so moved to Fitch which works well in the hamster cages. Don't use it for the guineas would work out too expensive.
I use old fashioned for my outdoor guineas newspaper and hay and then the Dunhelm Mill matting and newspaper underneath for Artie indoors which works well too.

Fitch is great! I have just switched to this from megazorb 2 weeks ago. No smell and soooo much easier to clean out. And it's nice and soft on piggies feet :)
