I've been using fitch for roughly 4 weeks now, I LOVE it, but it certainly hasn't lasted as long as I expected (I still have a fair amount but was expecting it to last longer). As it is quite expensive, I was wondering if anyone found Finacard as absorbent/odur free as fitch? I go a week between full cleans with 3xdaily spot cleans for poo and wee so both are a must :)

Finacard is a smaller bale and isn't as absorbent so Fitch can still be cheaper you should see if a local horse supplier has ecobale, green mile, walmsley premier bed as these are essentially finacard but £6 a bale :)

Yeah, I got some chopped card from a local farm store for about £6. The fitch is lovely and soft and white but I actually prefer the card and I feel it controls odour better.

I use finacard.Tried ecobale but didn't like it as much as finacard. The bits are quite a lot bigger and the bale didn't last as long.I have to pay postage on mine as no transport.Am going on to Fitch as have a hairless rat and thought it would be better for her to lie on.If it wasn't for her I would be using finacard as it lasts for ages and keeps the smell down

I've looked for equestrian suppliers in my area and there doesn't seem to be any :( I might stick to fitch for now and continue my search!

Finacard should be fine for her but you can always provide softer nesting material and fleece hammocks so she's comfy.

I cleaned the boys out today and I'm near the bottom of my fitch...might give finacard a go and see, or have a browse online for some others :)

Just ordered two bales of finacard from their site for £27, so I'm getting aprox. 34kg for that price, not too bad :) I'll update on it when I get it and give it a go

I have tried both and prefer Fitch, it's a lot softer. Absorbency seem good and odour is about the same. I use paper pellets for my litter tray though, they are awesome, very absorbent.

I do absolutely love fitch, it looks so clean and I've noticed no smell! But it lasted me about 1/3 of the time I expected and for the price it is it actually worked out more expensive then my previous bedding (standard wood chips with hay). I'm trying Finacard but I think I'll miss the clean look of Fitch :P

I didnt find that I used less finacard, but I'm not sure how much the price difference was though, so I guess it could turn out cheaper. I only use it for my hay loft, so I don't go through that much.

I'm hoping it lasts longer even if I use the same amount as I've ordered more of Finacard (extra 24kg), fingers crossed it does! I'm just looking to spend as little as I can throughout the summer on bedding when money will be a bit tighter :) Hopefully the boys like it too!
