Hey. I'm currently using puppy pads with fitch bedding on top- I can't seem to find a good routine to stop them smelling so much. What is your routine with fitch bedding? It seems so hard to 'spot clean' especially when they poo and wee everywhere!

Thanks in advance :)

I have the same set up but put an extra layer of newspaper where they pee the most and change that as and when needed. I also have a 'hay hut' which is covered over so they use that as their main toilet area which gets cleaned out every/every other night. Can't say I've had much issue with smell.

I have a litter tray with all their hay in and I have to say over the last week or so they're using they to pee in quite a lot but they seem to wriggle their bums up the side of the correx and wee there too. Do you find you can see the puppy pads quite a lot too? They seem to run a round a lot and they're getting to the puppy pads and chewing them. Think I may change to fleece liner soon lol

Mine have a thick layer of newspaper with extra sheets where they pee the most and then maybe 1.5/2 inches of fitch on top, luckily mine don't seem to smell till the day before being cleaned out but if i notice a corner is particularly damp or messy i just change that bit out with fresh paper and fitch.

Thankfully i have a unlimited supply of newspaper as my mum reads 2 different newspapers a day so i keep hold of them all!

I was having this problem and i actually found it was the puppy pads causing the smell not the fitch! I now just layer the cage with fitch, a slightly deeper layer, and use a dustpan to scoop it all out, wipe the corex with kitchen roll and white vinegar and hey presto :)
