This is partially just a little vent of something that I have found very stressful because I am a first time pig mum as an adult and everything new scares me but there is also a question 😅 So after almost 2 years of having our boys we had to take Kuzco to the vets, I noticed that his right eye had gone cloudy and he had white discharge on Friday, thanks to this amazing forum we knew he had to go to the vets quick and we got him in a soon as he could (Kronk was not pleased as this was the longest he had ever been away from his best friend and he was only gone for 20 minute 😅). The vet found that there was something stuck in his cornea under his eyelid and got it out and he’s now on eye drops and we were told that we should see good signs recovery within a week. This photo was taken today, the discharge has completely stopped but the eye is still cloudy at the moment. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the signs of recovery should be? The vet didn’t really say. Should the eye return to being bright and dark? Thank you as always in advance for any answers, advice and healing wheeks.

Once the ulceration heals, the eye will stop being cloudy. How soon depends on the severity of the injury but with quick treatment they usually heal very well.

Just a side note, it’s always best to take both piggies when one needs the vet. It is much less stressful for them to remain together at all times.

Thank you! I’m just glad that he’s never stopped being himself through all of this, still eating and yelling at me to feed him faster, he’s not a fan of the eye drops but he’s being a trooper!

Thank you for the side note as well! I was going to ask before the vet trip but it was so manic I didn’t have a chance, I didn’t know if it would be more stressful to take Kronk with or not but he will definitely be joining in the future! ❤️
