first time posting!
Hi I have a couple of sows i would like to try poo soup on, (ordered fibroplex but taking to long to arrive ),

i understand how to use it but can you use any healthy pigs poo or does it HAVE to be a companion they live with as it would have to be from boar in a separate hutch

Thankyou! :D

The poos can come from any healthy guinea pig that is not on medication. The crucial point is freshness - the microbiome in the poos will die off very quickly, so the poo soup is the more effective the fresher it is - ideally it is syringed within 5 minutes of the poo being dropped to give live microbiome a chance to get into the digestive tract where it can do good. ;)

All the best! It is one of the few home cure tricks that really have stood the test time as it mimics natural behaviour of recovering healthy piggies.

Redigested poos (caecotrophs) would be even better, but piggies usually pick them straight from their anus so you only rarely get to see them. In case you wonder why recovering piggies can become a pest for their companions by constantly ticking their face into their bums - this is what they are after. However, even normal waste poos still contain enough microbiome to make a difference.

thankyou!, i have a couple of boars that are poo machines so i will sit them in a carrier for 10-15 mins, I'm sure they will come up with something 😂😂

Give them something to eat - that seems to trigger the other end to produce poos in my own experience.
