First time bathing a guinea pig

I’ve always had short haired piggies and never had the need to bathe them. Now that I have Rapunzel, I thought I would give her a bath because I want to let all of her hair grow out just to see how pretty she is then I’ll be keeping her back end trimmed I guess. Anyway, I pictured a calm bath where I could take pictures of the cute little wet piggy. OMG they really don’t like baths! The poor thing was freaking out the whole time, I felt so bad for her. It will only be bum baths or spot clean from now on! Obviously, I have read and heard that they don’t like baths, but I thought she would just submit like my dogs do, not so much. Poor baby got lots of cuddles and extra carrots tonight!

Aww. One of the two girls I just took has long hair too. After reading this I won't attempt a bath. She is so beautiful!

I gave one of my piggies his first bath yesterday. He wriggled a lot to begin with but did calm down but when I was drying him off, oh my lord, he squealed the house down! Once he was all dried off I put his new bed in his cage so he went for a lie down to get over his ordeal!

Bless her! I think I have a rare guinea that actually quite likes a bath. Pop her in the sink and she just sits there whilst I put some water over her She's is very relaxed anyway tho. Your piggy is beautiful by the way

Pearl never really cared when we gave her a bath... she just seemed a little curious. We fed her lettuce while she was in the tub, so maybe that’s why?

Grace wasn't keen on the bathing (usually in the form of a botty bath!)
But she used to love the blow dry, proper pampered salon piggy
