Okay, it had to be done, it'll grow back and surely get easier in time (I'll get more experienced/she'll get less squirmy... hopefully!).

Must say that I hold some of the responsibility with Willow herself... if only she didn't have such an adorable mix of colours in her coat my hackery would be less obvious!

This one looks worse :))

The 'mini-Willow' :yikes:

I actually think that's quite passable, and i'm sure Marble hasn't laughed at her once...

She does have an adorable mix of colours in her coat I agree. What a sweetie she is. guinea pig mullet cut!

As long as it serves the purpose of stopping her bottom getting wet and matted then it is perfect! Besides have you SEEN some of the haircuts people sport lately in the name of fashion? Far worse than anything Willow is showing off.

It is very professional,it helps to keep Willow clean and dry ,i hack mine so they all end up looking like a short back and sides !x

I think Marble has been looking at Willow with a mixture of pity (syringe meds and bum cut) and envy (at these times she gets extra veg to persuade/ease the trauma).

I'm glad Marble's hair doesn't have this issue (it's goes in all directions but firstly away from her skin in a chaos/fluff mass), I can't be doing double the work :))

Marble reminds me of my previous guinea pig Oakley, she was Abyssinian too but a different colour. I love how their hair goes all punky (and needs very little hairdressing skills).
And yes, Oakley would've been quite envious (and would've complained loudly) if another piggy got treats without her! Oakley demanded to be served first, regardless of whether or not another piggy was being particularly brave...

That's pretty good! I had to learn the hard way, starting with a sheltie who had never had a haircut in her life. She was a total nightmare and it looked a lot worse than that. I've since gotten a texel and a merino, and I've found that a good way of approaching it is to cut it as short as possible at the bottom, trim trousers, and blend it in upwards with the longer fur. It took me ages to get it right, but now I can do a decent job... one year and dozens of haircuts later! :)

@GuineaWiggles I got as far as trying to cut short at the bottom... then had to give up as she was getting too squirmy and stressed :/ She didn't like the sound of the scissors, I'd not even factored that in, it's not like they're LOUD :))

Think it might be worth researching into local grooming places!

Yup, sounds like Oakley and Marble have the same personalities... think it's an Aby thing :))

Very lucky that Willow is laid back then, Oakley was a bossy little madam with other piggies (our vet actually nicknamed her 'Little Miss Whiplash').
She loved being fussed by people though - she used to lift her head up as high up as possible so that I could tickle right under her chin. I loved her so much, she was a cheeky little character!

Yes! I sometimes feel a bit sorry for Willow - she's 11 weeks old and she's had an abscess removed, yucky syringed mess, a bad mummy haircut and on top of all that a stroppy flatmate :))

I think it's perfect compared to the skinhead I gave Scoobie the other day. You should have finished it off with an electric hair cutter though, I find it evens out all the lumps, unless you go a tad to close. Then you can say well you were only checking for mites.

Awww bless her, a good trim there. Well done
