hello I am making my first c&c cage and wanted to see everyone's thoughts/if you think this can work....I can't get a piece of coroplast as wide as I would like to accommodate the smaller section would I be able to just make a second coroplast insert and then cut a little entry way in it for the pigs? I appreciate any thoughts/advice in advance! Also please ignore the mess with the regular cage I had to rearrange to have the c&c layout in there too!

Awesome thanks I didn't know if that would work out! Also does anyone know if I should make a base out of the gross as well? Directions I read didn't include that but I saw another post on here that did. The cage will be on the floor.

Thank you again!

If the cage will be on the floor then you don't need to add a base with grids, as long as you have something like coroplast in there.

My C&C shape is very similar to yours, and I started with one piece of coroplast (with sides) in a 2 x 2 extension, and one long piece which was 5 x 2.
I kept the wall with a small doorway and the 2 x 2 section became the kitchen.
Then I decided to open the whole thing up (I was deluding myself if I thought a separate kitchen was going to stop hay being dragged everywhere) which gave them a much bigger open space to run in. I just cut through the existing corroplast wall, and taped it all together with heavy duty duct tape. Works a treat.

I hope that makes sense - I will try to get some photos.

I have a 3x4 cage which is on the floor. I put vinyl flooring underneath. The put fleece etc on top. So I don't have the edge around the cage others do.

It seems to work out fine. And the piggies are always coming over (probably in search of treats) when I'm cutting fabric on the floor!

Yes understand what you mean I was hoping to use the smaller section for a hay area too! I will be so sad if they still make a mess haha! Wiley likes to burrow in it then run around as it falls off her head!

Thanks for your tips everyone!

Ha! I also had visions of pristine fleece, fabulous lay outs, and matching accessories.
However as usual the guinea pigs had entirely different plans!
But your cage space looks wonderful. Don't forget to post updates once it's done.

Got it done today. Need to get better at laying down the bedding!

Any thoughts/input welcome! I need to get more of their stuff in there :)

I had a little trouble with the L shaped corner so there are a couple pieces of cloroplast that make it up and a lot of tape! I may get more cloroplast and redo it at some point. Any advice on that welcomed as well!
Thanks

Sorry images won't upload I will try again tomorrow....

Also new issue found! My Wiley pig is chewing on the cloroplast! Should I cover it somehow?

Lovely. Really like the fleece too. Mine sometimes chew the correx, they chew mostly the wooden tubes and bendy stick bridge mostly though.

You could peg the fleece over the correx if big enough or edge it with or get plastic edging that goes over the edges.Great space for them.Mine is on the floor so I can sit with them

Thank you everyone! I could not pass up that fleece and it was on sale! Maybe I will put their cardboard tunnel in there til they're used to the cage. Wiley is definitely my adventurous and chew everything in sight pig!

Give them split Toliet rolls & brown paper bags. If you want to be really nice, put in a carrot house.

Under the fleece I have towels and then under their houses I also have dish drying mats.

Thanks for the advice maybe I will try that out. It's probably less bulky too

I read on the forum somewhere that removal blankets are really absorbent. Hope so as i got a pack of five off ebay in readiness for my soon to be chosen pair of guineapigs.
