I live in Slough and there is always a large amount of fireworks let off in celebration of Diwali (sp?), this goes on for at least two days usually and as I only got my girls on Saturday they aren't completely settled and I can't guarantee they will be by early November, what do you guys do when fireworks are going on? I was thinking of some pet remedy plug ins and possibly covering the cage for some extra security?

They're indoor pigs in a 2x4 C&c cage with a 2x1 loft with no lid.

Cover the top of the cage with a thick fleece blanket to make them feel secure, play a radio or the tv for them to block out the noise and draw the curtains in their room to block out the bright lights :)

I usually close the curtains, put some music on (YouTube has relaxing music for guinea pigs which my lot actually seem to like!) And then nice big piles of hay to hide in. Most of them are a little quiet and just hide but are not overly bothered. My deaf piggy doesn't care and will wander about, turning her cagemate out of her hiding places wondering what the heck is going on XD I usually bring extra treats out too..my defense is all that chewing must help middle the sound a little, so why not lol
