Having lost his companion Scottie on 23 March ,Ronnie is going back to the rescue for a few days to be bonded ( hopefully) with Stan a 2.5 year old. Fingers crossed all will go well. I shall miss the little fellow and I’m so nervous for things to go well. I shall use the opportunity to give his cage and fleeces a good clean. Please wish him luck every one. I will keep you posted. Hopefully in a few days my super six will be restored.

Good luck Ronnie hope you and Stan like each other. If they get on, when you bring them both home, before you put them in the cage, wipe the cage round with something that smells of both of them. This helps the new piggy feel more at home and marks it as their territory and not just Ronnie's. This was a little tip I picked up from Little Wheekers when I adopted Patsy.

I will thank you. Should I leave them in the cage for a few days to let Stan settle. Ronnies used to floor time six days a week so not sure when I should introduce Stan to it . Obviously I can’t let one out without the other

All the best Ronnie! Be the good boy that you look like you are 😍 I wouldn’t give them floor time straight away.

I agree. Stan needs to settle in first and get used to the routine in his new home. Be aware he will be very scared and won't know where he is or what he is supposed to do. He will have lots of new strange noises and smells too. His prey instincts will be at an all time high. I adopted Patsy 8 months ago now and she is only just started to realise that his is her forever home and is starting to relax.

Good luck Ronnie. Hope Stan is a friendly fellow and you like each other. 🤞🤞

Ronnies on his way to the rescue. I’m so worried he’ll feel like I’ve abandoned him. This is his 4th home to the best of my knowledge. Possibly more. I’m missing him already 😢

All the best! You are giving Ronnie a chance to choose a friend of his own liking. He will be very busy and excited with all the piggy sounds/smells at the rescue or fosterer's and having a new neighbour to meet through the bars and then face to face if initial signs are positive.

It is much more difficult for a loving owner to let go and place your trust in somebody else. :(

Thank you. He’s had such a shite life. I just want him to bond with Stan so much. He is with the rescue team I adopted him and Scottie from. I
Know he will be looked after brilliantly without a doubt. Just want him to be happy

You are doing all you can for him; he couldn't have found a more caring forever home! There will be happiness again for Ronnie; if not with Stan, then with another boy. You and the rescure will guarantee that. Just try to not fixate on the positive outcome like it is the only possible option to the exclusion of everything else so you come totally crashing down emotionally if it doesn't work out for some reason.

Try too see it positively at giving him the chance and the control over his own life and happiness that he has lacked before to find who he wants to be with for the long term. if it doesn't work the first time, there will be more chances and sooner rather than later he will have the perfect boarmate of his own liking. It is not a make-or-break scenario, it is just the first launch of several possible attempts. ;)

Thanks for putting it perspective. You’re right. It’s Ronnies choice. All I want is for him to be content for whatever time he has left.
