Hi all,
I have a quick question about finacard bedding, please. At the moment the piggies are on fleece in a 5 by 2 cage with a 2 by 2 loft. However, I find the constant maintenance of the fleece bedding is too much and I’m looking to switch to a paper-based bedding and I’m thinking about finacard. Finacard sell a maxibale but it’s not clear how big the bale is and I’m not sure how much I’d need to fill a 5 by 2 cage. Does anyone have any ideas, please?
Thanks

I buy a bale of finacard from my local farm shop. My boys are in a hutch in my shed but the hutch is a two storey 5 foot x 2 foot. I put a thick layer in both levels of their hutch but it has to have something on top of it - it’s not rough, but it’s not soft enough to use on its own - I use loads of hay with my two being outside. The large bale I’m on now is entering its third month and I’ve got enough for about two weeks left, so a bale does last a long time and is cheap from the farm shop so very good value.

Hello, I buy Finacard bales from company's website. It's excellent and bale lasts a few weeks in 5 by 2 hutch. I also use puppy pads and hay. Pigs will come inside shortly and I'll continue to use it.

Thanks Piggies&buns and Crocus. That’s really helped. I was slightly worried one bale would only last for one fill of the cage!
