Thought I'd start a thread on Finacard so we can prehaps share our experiences of it on here. Just ordered a few mini packs of Finacard and Papelit pellets to go underneath apparantly is works better then as the Papelit stuff is very absorbant, I wanted to change onto something other than fleece for a few reasons 1. the pigs dig it up
2. everything sticks to it especially hay
3. high maintenance. my mum doesn't like washing it and you have to spot clean once a day where as I believe with Finacard you only have to change the bedding once a week and you don't / can't spot clean ( correct me if I'm wrong!) Just wondering what your experiences are using Finacard and Paperlit for your pigs?

Thanks. :)

I've not used it so can't comment, but I'm interested to hear how you find it. Keep us updated.

I've used newspaper and shavings, fleece and megazorb but Finacard is THE BEST bedding for me! I use a layer of newspaper a small covering of Paperlit and then a inch or so of Finacard. It doesnt smell and it's great value for money as you get 220 litres for £13.99. I've had mine for weeks and it's hardly made a dent in the bag. I have a 120 indoor cage.
To be honest I've used Finacard without the paper pellets and it's just as good without so I won't bother buying anymore of them once I finish the bags I've got. For what they are they're expensive.

I would HIGHLY recommend it! It's brilliant!

Thanks. Good to hear some positive feedback and hear of someone who uses Papelit as well. :)

I have changed my piggie cage bedding to a cardboard bedding called premierbed, which I believe is very similar to Finacard. Premierbed is £6.30 a bale.
Although I do use vetbed in some of my cages too and fleece beds and loungers, I haven't completely got away from washable items.

This is the thread I made when I discovered the change from fleece to cardboard bedding.

I have finacard in the house for the rats so I thought I would try it for the piggies, but I didn't find it absorbent enough on its own compared to shavings or pellets.
