I am gutted, charlie and romeo who have lived together for over a year have had a major fight. Charlie has three cuts on him, one by the side of the lip and two just underneath the chin. I have put them in seperate cages as I know you need to split them if they ever draw blood. Romeo hasn't a mark on him, so Charlie has come out the worst. I have wiped away the blood, but the one by the lip is a slight open wound. Is there anything I can use to clean the wound, maybe salty water? many thanks. natasha

i had this happen a few weeks ago, best to clean the wound - salt water is good, then do nothing

let it dry out and heal up. you will be suprised how quick it will heal!

yes i did that with my second boar fight and both healed fine! Now it's unfortunately time to start thinking about new friends for your boys!

to be honest they are going to have to stay on their own for a while, we have no room to get any more, as the room is full of hutches and cages, so if we get another two, then that means more cages and its just a no no at the moment. Unless I can get the boys chopped, then I could rehouse them with a few of the girls maybe?

I have decided to get the two fightings boys chopped. I can't get them any young boars to bond with as I have no more room for cages / hutches. I have 3 girls who live together who are about 7 months old now, one of the girls is sometimes pushed out by the others, so I am going to get the two boys done, so I can rehouse one with the two girls and the other with the lonely girl. What do you think? It costs £69 from the vets I will only use for gps now and I know we can trust them, so I will have to either borrow some money from the other half to get them both done at the same time, or get one done next month and then other the month after. Please tell me if I am being stupid or anything! thanks. Natasha
