Hi,
I've got two guineas who have been together since birth (both male). They are now about 14 weeks. They often chase each other round the change very manically then stop and look at each other before continuing. They squeek a lot whilst doing this. Quite often it'll be when I've just put some fresh food in their cage.

Usually I would assume they are playing but I'm quite paranoid about them falling out and fighting. Is it quite a common occurance for two males to fight?

Thanks a lot
Joe

some males get on better than others. Some of mine cuddle up together and others chase and chatter at each other but have never got into a proper fight. I would keep an eye on them and only seperate if they had an actual fight. Having two of everything helps (igloos, food bowls, hay racks and bottles). at veg time give them two seperate piles of veg. I have large cages and set them up in a mirror image so its like two seperate cages but all in one if that makes sense 98) that way the pigs dont have to spend time together if they dont want to.

Sounds like they are playing to me, if they are teeh chattering, circling one another and look ruffled up ready for a fight then monitor them carefully.

My boys fell out at 8 months! but my other two boys are fine but they are only 5 and 4 months! :)

i have 4 males borthers living togther there been togother from day 1 there are now 9 months old there do like to play chse with each other and there like to try and make babies with each othr too but there get on fine. When mine have al had a big sleep and are all wide awake thats when there tend to trach each other around the cage

Great thanks for the advice. Things would be a lot easier if I could speak their language. O0

Is it normal for Guineas to scuffle on the odd occasion? When does it get too much? Thanks :police:

Interesting reading this - I've got two young boars in an indoor cage, and 2 girls in another indoor cage in the same room (the boys are used to having girls around so it's ok). I have been hearing chasing and squealing but by the time I've got there, they've stopped, and I had assumed it was the boys squabbling because they're getting teengerish. However this morning I got there in time, only to find it was the girls! I've got a 6 month old who has been a bit poorly but is on the mend now (hence indoors) in with baby B (10 weeks) and it sounds like the older girl is getting really impatient with B. They haven't hurt each other but there was a lot of noise and scuffling going on!

Kids eh!
