I have 2 female guinea pigs in a large cage.
One of my guinea pigs had a dental operation yesterday and today is fighting with the other. We separated them straight away as I'm worried she may pull the others stitches out. But now wondering what to do this evening. I tried putting them back together but they snapped and so one is now in a box. I have also given her more medicine in case she's in pain. Do I leave them separated over night? Thanks in advance

What are they doing exactly when you say they’re fighting? Are they teeth chattering each other and neither backing down? Is one chasing the other? Are they pulling out fur? Sows tend to pull fur rather than have piggy roll flying fluff fights.

Teeth chattering and charging, not backing down but I don't think they fought long before we separated them. Also Don't think they've pulled hair.

Unsure. I've only had them a week 🤦. I will leave then separated overnight. I think it started when the dental one was in pain, her medication was due in an hour. Do you think they will be fine tomorrow once she's taken her morning medications? Just a bit worried about it all.

Hopefully they will go back together. A week is a short time as they’re still sorting out their hierarchy - this can go on for up to two weeks after moving to a new home. 🤞🏾

Thankyou so much. This morning I put them back together in neutral ground and deep cleaned the cage before putting them back in and I've never seen them so happy together! 😁
