Figaro Chews Everything He's Not Meant To

Figaro's a happy little pig, ALWAYS wheeking and popcorning, very curious and chuffed to see you BUT his chewing habit's going to give me a coronary! Does he chew the chew tunnel? No. Does he chew the numerous hay-filled toilet roll holders? No. How about the wooden bridge? No. He chews the string holding up the cosies, he chews the plastic clip on the cage door, he chews the edge of the incontinence sheet, he chews the edge of the hay racks, he chews the fleece...WHY? They get crunchy veg every day. I feel like one day I'm going to wake up to a dead piggy because he's got an impacted intestine.

Is he normal?
 
This made me giggle! Gus is a lot like that. Chews anything he can get his teeth on! As he's gotten older he has grown out of it...a bit. So far no harm has come to him, I think he spits plastic stuff out.
 
Oh and apparently guinea pigs aren't natural climbers? Well, could someone tell Figaro please cause he pretty much decided to climb into the empty veg rack today...right after he mounted the chewb and took a poo on top of it LOL

My boys used to be great climbers when they were young but at their present ages of almost 4 and almost 3 they have slowed down. I think it's because their bottoms have become just too heavy! Also when young, Peanut Butter went in for high jumping. He once jumped right over an 8inch connectable texta marker wall my granddaughter had built to confine him in.

Can't help with the chewing. My boys are not so fussy, they chew everything - good & bad stuff.
 
haha my boys don't chew luckily, well except the bars the the cage lol as for climbing i caught colossus climbing the wall trying to get in nemmys cage once luckily havnt seen him do it again since
 
I've not had a pig that chews but maybe that is because I've only had 5 pigs ( to date ). I've tried offering my piggies chewy toys but they don't seem very interested, the exception being toilet roll tubes which they will chew a bit. Not the whole tube though, just the ends, so we get through a lot of tubes. They don't chew blankets. Daisy would push a jingle ball around when she felt like it.
