Is the Ferplast 120 an acceptable cage for two female guineas?

In the summer I want to keep them in an 6ft or 7ft hutch in the garden but I want to keep them inside during the winter. We don’t have much room inside the house and we’ve also got two cats. We’ve got a garage attached to our kitchen but it gets very cold in the winter 🙂🙂

A 120cm is the US/UK minimum cage size two piggies should be kept in. So it’s fine from a welfare perspective but of course any space you can give them bigger than that minimum is a good idea, even if it is just exercise/floor time every day.

Are the Ferplast 120 double cages any good? I wouldn’t have thought so as Guinea pigs need running space but I just thought I’d check with this forum 🙂

You are correct, piggies are ground roaming and need single level floor space. Upper levels do not increase the available floor space and are considered as bonus spaces only. You can have a double level cage (if your piggies will use a ramp), but it won’t mean they got double space

Also consider the slant of the ramp. Too steep isn’t good, and it likely would be in that cage. And it would also take away running space from the ground floor.
