Anyone have any opinions on these cages? The ferplast is slightly more expensive but I dont mind if its a better cage :)

Neither - esepecially if you are planniing to "stack" the cages

Ferlast side door opener can be difficult if trying to open it and feed veggies from the other hand at the same time. There is limited overhead space to open it with and it is very fiddly.

Skyline side door is too narrow for effective cleaning. The cage itself is slightly bigger than Ferplast and Savic - but it only works if t is a "one off and you have access to the lid to take it off for cleaning properly. if that is the case then this is really good value for money

Your best bet is a Savic Nero 4. Wide side door for cleaning/access - and the right size to fit on external shelving partic if you want muiltple cages. (PM me for further details)

I have all three - and Savic beats the rest every time for fuctionaility.

Pebble (HELLO btw, lol, must email you!) my Ferplasts don't have side doors...? They just have the two massive all front openings (two of them)

They are in theory not stackable...but we did...just do NOT open both the front doors of the bottom one while you still have two guineas in the top. Learn from my mistake (and the hay that ended up on my head)

I have the skyline xxl and its ok but zooplus are failing to get me the clips which are needed to hold the sides in place. They just send more cages which do not have these clips ¬_¬
zipties are wonderful things to hold the sides in place.

However I do find the skyline easier to clean than ferplasts as the tray is smooth not like a grid style on the ferplasts which pee gets all crusted up inside

I have a ferplast 120 and I'm happy with mine. Skyline xxl is cheaper but I wanted a cage that my girls could easily get out to access a run and the two cage doors at the front do this perfect and I think it is easier to pick up the guineas rather than having a small square opening. I do agree about the little squares at the bottom of the cage, all things get stuck in these but I use lots of layers of newspapers to ensure pee doesn't get stained down there :)

I only had double front opening on my ferplast, I used to have the 120cm. I used to stack 2 and when I opened the bottom I would use a peg to peg the door to the cage above, this worked ok for me :)

My Ferplast had a tiny front opening so I couldn't stack it & get access, as we would feed through the top, leaving the door off. I can't understand the access for cleaning bit, as I could never have cleaned the cage properly without taking the top part off completely, leaving just the tray to clean, the easiest way to do it :)

I have a feraplast,It's the largest one they make! it's side door opens which is the full width of the cage! Very easy to clean, study and and roomy! I have no problems or critisisums with mine! And well... It's pink! And compliments Jasmine perfectly..xx>>>
I don't think you will have any complains from your piggies with this one! :)):)):))

I havent seen a ferplast with a side opening, both mine were different but both opened at the top, one the front went backwards as a full piece so that went on top and the newer one had the front split into two halves and flipped back, like this:

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/hutches_cages/guinea_pig_cages/120_cm_cages/14083

you can see the fron has 2 clips, one for each section that opens fully. I can imagine a side opening is mega awkward!
