Hi everyone.

Today i got the Feriplast 100 ready for when i get my piggies(hopefully in next few weeks:(|):(|)) and i noticed that the ramp for the shelf bit where the food bowl goes is quite steep and it looks like will be slippy as made from plastic. So has any got this cage and is the ramp ok or will i need to make some modifactions?

Thanks
Amanda

I have a piggy in a 100, and he just hops up and down to the second level. He's an adult pig so he can do this safely. I'd question whether it was safe for young or old pigs - if they're going to be particularly young or old, maybe get rid of the platform and provide pigloos or similar for hiding in?

Also, I'd question whether a 100 is big enough for 2+ piggies (you say piggies plural, but not how many), unless its a temporary arrangement for while they're very young?

Amanda (not yourself, a different one!)

P.S. as a guinea pig owner, you will have to refer to the word "week" as "wheek" instead - its the law!

Hi thanks for replying.

It would be for 2 females. They would have plenty of floor time.

Is this size not good for 2 then? I did read lots of reviews. Would love a C&C cage but not got room :(

It depends on your set up really. I have a large (he's a right fatty!) lone male in a 100, but he's practically a house guinea pig - I work 2 days a week, so I'm home the other 5, and he spends all day out of his cage, unless I need to leave him unsupervised - i.e. at night and if i need to pop out, so the amount of time he spends in his cage is minimal.

I also have a group of three, and I'm moving into whats effectively a bedsit, so I'm moving them into C&C so I can be creative with the little space that I have, make several storeys etc.
