hi all,
was just wondering whether anyone could tell me which hutch would be a better option.
I have read numerous negative reviews in the bluebell hutch from p@h although I have also read lots of positives. I also have seen the Fern hutch at pets at home which is the same size as the bluebell however have not seen many reviews in it. Can anyone help?

I've not seen the fern one but tbh all the P@H hutches are rubbish. I bought the Bluebell hutch as it was on offer and I regret it now. It's practically made out of cardboard lol.

The P@H are really cheap but in the scheme of things you'll probably have to replace them fairly often and I wouldn't trust it to be predator proof.

If I could go back I wouldn't have purchased one from them. The Great And Small ones are a lot better, I'm saving up for their Jumbo hutch.

How much are they? which ones would you recommend?

They're more expensive, depending on which one you want. The XL that I want is £179 but there's a double hutch for £189. The doubles aren't as good for piggies as most of them don't like ramps so I like the jumbo one.

thanks. Would I need a run to go with it straight away or could I wait and save for it. Otherwise its like 300 pounds. I'm only 14 so my parents will pay for the hutch but probably not the run at the same time

Yes it can be a costly investment for the initial set up, I know from experience!

You could always get a cheaper run online for the time being? I got one a while ago for about £16 which was a wire one from Amazon so might be a good temporary option while you save up :)

It's not the best but I used it indoors mainly and it was perfectly fine :)

They will be outdoor piggies. I might get one and just use it under supivision

Ah okay then I would definitely say supervise them in the wire run and make sure it's set up nice and strong :)

The Great and Small stuff will be extra important if they'll be living outdoors as they're super strong :D

Mine are indoor so it's a different kettle of fish XD

is it possible to get a cover for the hutch or maybe is there a way to make one

Mine are outdoor piggies and I bought a Tulip P@H hutch as it was half price and it's complete rubbish. I have only had it a year and there is a small hole at the back and the floor is delaminating already! I have had to put a false floor at the bottom of it too! It will only see another winter then I'll have to get another in the spring. NOT from P@H!

I got a cover from Scratch & Newton.

Hope this helps!
