I'm having difficulties bonding back my two girls Buffy and Faith. I bought them together over 2 years ago and they have lived together for about 1 year then I introduced Charlie and Angel (both neutered boys) they all lived very happily together for about a year, then 2 weeks ago they all had a big falling out and had to be seperated, mainly it was the boys. So I paired Faith with Charlie and Buffy with Angel but sadly Charlie passed away at the weekend, so Faith was left on her own. I've tried on neutral ground but its the girls that are causing the problem, they just go for each other straight away and its really nasty. I seperate them immediately as I think blood will be drawn.

Please can anyone give me any ideas or tips on how to get these two back together as Faith is very lonely on her own. They did live in a 6x2 c&c cage but now its seperated into 4x2 and a 2x2. I don't want to get another piggie as I haven't the room as the c&c would then be 2 lots of 3x2, which isn't big enough for 2 piggies!

Thanks for any comments and sorry its very waffley, just wanted to explain the whole story!

Lou xx

Sorry to hear about Charlie passing away.

I would imagine that Buffy is feeling threatened by Faith. It could be a "hands off my man" type of confrontation.

Did you try them on neutral territory because if you put Faith in with the other two in their cage or "patch" then it may not have helped the bonding?

You could try them together again but well away from the cages ... perhaps in a run if you have one. Or bath them all at the same time, but only if you can blow dry them thoroughly because of the colder weather. That will remove their body scents for a while. Alternatively, pop a little perfume on to each of them.

I hope that you can bond them, but unfortunately piggies usually make up their own minds as to who they want to live with.

I did try on neutral ground outside on the grass but didn't work. I'll try the bath this weekend! Fingers Crossed

I managed to bathe them all at the same time today while my hubby scrubbed their cage, they behaved very well indeed and loved being blow dried! Then put them in the cage (now opened up into one big run) and they have been getting on great. yippieeeeee :)):))

I've put some pics on the gallery for you to see. :)

Is everything still quiet and well behaved, Louiser?

If so, then the bathing worked well and I will be very pleased! :)

hmm so so, Buffy is still sniping at Faith now and then, is just when Faith runs into the igloo Buffy is in! They have 3 igloos to choose from! I'm keeping a close eye on them. :)
