I am getting two guinea pigs soon 8) I am putting them in a c&c cage, but i don`t know weather to use felt or hay?:{

Do you mean fleece or hay? :)

Maybe you could try both, over say a week, and see which you prefer?

There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

Or maybe try fleece, and have one corner with hay for the pigs to forage around in. :)

I would strongly recommend using fleece on a layer of newpaper and cheap towel or more expensive incontinence pads. It is widely available and very cheap and a lot less messy to change than hay.

Please have a look through our housing section where we have got lots of threads with info on fleece and how to go about it.

Thanks I will try that

i have mine on fleece with a litter tray with hay in

So do I and most people who use fleece. Some have made a hayloft in their C&C cages.

This is my holiday set-up:

We keep our girls on fleece over megazorb with a layer of newspaper between. I also leave a grids worth of megazorb at each end without fleece or paper and put hay here. The girls tend to wee in the hay and this helps to keep the fleece dry. They do tend to drag the hay about a bit so it doesn't stay neat for long but I find that they are a lot more confident running around on the fleece than they were when we kept them on hay over paper.
