My guinea pig is 8 months old. One month ago, I found that her right back foot looks bright red and has peeling skin. I thought that was fungal and used some spray. She had sirious fungal problem on her head when I got her and got well because of this spray. But there is no use this time. The important thing is that she is eating and playing normally and there is no hair removal.

ps: She lives on diapers and I clean her cages and replace diaper everyday.

I realy want to know what's wrong with her feet. Her feet problem occasions me great anxiety. I live in China. Guinea pigs are not a common pets here, I can not find a vet who is experienced in guinea pig. Please help! Thanks very much!

This thread should help you with posting pictures. http://theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=88068

I don't really know what to suggest as I don't know what products are available to you in China.
What do you mean when you say she is bedded on diapers? I would say her foot is irritated by something on the floor of the cage. Do you have such products as Sudocrem or Vaseline? It might be worth applying something like this to soothe the skin, however I would be careful with what you use as guinea pigs skin is more sensitive than ours so you can't use an ordinary human moisturiser.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thank you very much! I think I can get Vaseline, I will have a try.

Yes, both of my guinea pigs like to egest everywhere, I have to use diapers which can
absorb urine, but the diapers are not natural carpet. But the other guinea pig's feet are normal, they live in the same conditions.

same as people some have more sensitive skin other can walk on fire

I would start a ritual of washing their feet and applying Vaseline (or olive oil, either one works) and then make sure the diapers cover the entire cage bottom--plastic on their bare feet can hurt!
