my guineapig was bought by a lovely friend. He gets lots of cuddles and playtime with me. Also lots of baby talk and attnetion. He seems happy but many of my frinds say why dont i get a mate 4 him? he is a bit dominant tho and also my landlady wont let me have another one. My GP seems happy as he always greets me then he purrs a lot when i stoke his chin. He popcorns tooxoxoxoxoxoxo:laluot_03::<>

I think its up to you to be honest... I like all my piggies to have cuddle buddies but people do keep them alone... If i ever have had one in on their own in the past then i always make sure they can see other piggies and enjoy the company of eating together and playtime out together. I have had one little girl who hated anyone in her cage she wanted to be alone x
Maybe a rescue piggie would be the way to go... Your land lord may b more open to a rescue one x.. Bare in mind depending on age introducing a new friend may not be smooth.. Please correct me if I'm wrong anyone

I find its more down to personality than age, take your guinea to a local rescue and let him find his own friend :) Although singles are happy enough with lots of attention from you

Can you really do that?> Take your piggy to a rescue to pick a friend?
Its like blind date!

yep its probably the best way to do it. rescues can advise on good matches and the not so good ones so you end up with a better chance of a great bonding rather than just throwing another random pig into the equation.

like us, most piggies dont get on with EVERYONE of their own kind!

Best ring up the rescue FIRST - not all will allow that, but many do. So you need to make sure. The RSPCA for instance, do not.

Addresses for rescues you can get via the "guinea pig rehome" link at the bottom of the page.

I have bonded two of my older guinea pig girls like that after hteir companion died, both times with great success. But brace yourself not to come home with the piggy you would have chosen!

Ideally it would be lovely for him to have a friend but if your landlady wont allow it then please dont beat yourself up about it :)

It sounds as though he has a great home and you obviously love him and pay him lots of arrention - lots of piggies are not so lucky as your chap.

thnku guys yes i do smtimes feel sad 4 him BUT he plays with my hair and chases my hand etc. I cuddle him lot during the daytime and he gets toys treats water food etc. I even got spinache patch 4 him in the garden. I try to get him grass to eat too. He so beutiful. In fact the reason i have him is thta I'm a fulltime carer 4 my husband who once had cancer so sadly we now cannot hav our own kids. So i got Guinpiggy as my own baby lol. I even get him baby towels for his bottom baths lol when he gets stinky hehehe, makes me feel motherly
