As I mentioned in a previous thread, there has been a major falling out in my previously happy foursome.
I am still devastated by this sudden change of group dynamic, but I am also realistic - I have to come up with a new short term plan to house everyone in a way that keeps them safe and makes them happy.
Given what I currently have to work with, this is our new set up.
I would really appreciate any feedback anyone can offer.
Eddi and Oreo have a 2 x 4.
Ruby and Lucy only have a 2 x 3.
Their hay trays are smaller than I would like to maximize floor space.
They all have a mix of wooden houses (they like to chew/destroy) and soft bedding (they like their creature comforts).
I know that 2 x 3 is too small for the girls, and I am hoping that by the end of the month, both pairs will have a 2 x 5 with a loft.
For the record I hate the new set up because it seems so small.
They are separated by grids right now, but I had to put a piece of correx across the grids because Lucy was chewing the bars manically to get to Eddi and Oreo.
The whole thing is heartbreaking (for me) because Lucy would love to be back with Edi and Oreo, but she is also the only guinea pig that Ruby has ever fully accepted, and I want to try and keep them as a pair if at all possible.
I would love any feedback on improving the cages, or how to keep everyone happy.
I feel like a totally rubbish owner right now, so am worried I am not making good decisions for the guinea pigs.
