We currently have 2 wonderful bonded boars Wallace and Tim. Wallace being nearly 4 and Tim around 3 months old. They get on like a house on fire, never any signs of aggression from either piggy x)

A local rescue has reserved Ouzo another boar for us who has had his pockets picked recently. We were wondering if the best option for us would be to have another boar bonded with him or whether to take full advantage of Ouzos empty pockets and bond him with possibly 1 or even 2 sows.

As we are one big happy family here we would like to house Ouzo and his new friend(s) in the same room. They would be approximately 10 feet apart.

Will this cause any problems with Wallace and Tim if we introduce sows into our home? We do realise that Tim has still to reach his full maturity and hormone level :{ so dont want to rock the boat as far as the bond that Tim and Wallace have ?/

Can anyone give us some advice on the best way forward?

Thankx

Lisa & Ali x

I think that across the room would be far enough apart. The important thing is that girls are out of sight and preferably out of reach of the pheromones.

Ouzo form h2h? I've seen pictures of that little fella. He's beautiful x

Yeah that's our boy, x) Busily getting everything ready for him and friend(s). Won't be long now :(|):(|).

I have a bonded pair of boars here, and they can see and even smell the girls, but have never ever fought. However they are around 3 years old and a VERY well established pair, they can go out in runs next to girls and don't pay them any attention. I do wonder if they swing the other way...

It is something I have always been very wary of though if I am honest, only you know your boys and how stable they are, but you do have to bear in mind Tim hasn't been through his hormonal stage yet and having girls really close might wake up some grumpiness. I do think though across a large, well ventilated room so the smell is not right in their face would probably be ok.
