We tried to bond Sven with Lily and Rosie again today but unfortunately it didn't work. We gave it a good go but after just over two hours of normal bonding behaviour, Sven lunged at Rosie and nipped her face causing a small nick.

This is the second attempt at bonding them with Sue at Cavy Corner trying the first time. I think it's time to draw a line under it and accept that they will be next door neighbours.

Rosie is fine and I've cleaned her nick. We'll just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't get infected. Everyone is now back in their respective cages and looking very pooped after a busy day.

Having Lily and Rosie next door has definitely perked Sven up and that's good enough for us. Having Lily and Rosie has also brought us lots of enjoyment after losing Elsa.

Sorry to hear this has happen, sometimes it just doesnt work out :( You have really tried your best. How old are they?

Sven's 3 and Sue thought that Lily and Rosie are about 18 months.

We've tried our best and we've thought about trying to match Sven with a different single sow but she's really aggressive when she lunges and we're just wondering if she's one of those pigs that are going to be hard to bond.
