Hello, 2 days ago, I sent my boar Cookie off for bonding. He arrived back a day later as it went terribly. I’ve checked him over and he has 2 bad bite marks with blood around them. He hasn’t been himself ever since returning and I’d like to get him a vet check up. We paid the rescue £50. As he only stayed a night, this came to £7. I’d like to get a £43 refund to go towards a vet check up for him - there’s a no refund policy though. Am I being unreasonable for wanting this refund? Considering we paid 7x for what we should’ve?

As I have no idea what you signed it is impossible to say, however I don't think asking for a refund sounds unreasonable.
To be honest I am shocked that the rescue returned him with such bad bites and didin't mention this to you or offer to have him seen by a vet.

I think a vet check is a good idea so you can make sure he doesn't develop an infection or abscess at the bite sites.

Sadly pretty much anyone in the Uk can set up and call themselves a rescue and this is absolutely no promise of the quality or level of service.
I am sorry you had such a bad experience.
I would definitely contact the rescue and explain the situation.

Well, i dont work at a rescue so I'm just looking at this purely from a piggy owner pov and i dont think you're being unreasonable at all.

To my mind, a main benefit of using a rescue for bonding is that they know what they are doing and should be experienced enough to seperate before it goes wrong.

I expect accidents can happen - but even so, i would expect the rescue to return your pig in the condition you presented him in.

I didn't know they could just call themselves rescues, that's terrible! The rescue looked like it was in someone's garage. Poor Cookie!

Yes, I agree. Poor piggy has been sleeping lots ever since he came back, probably didn't get a chance to sleep at the "rescue" with all the biting!

FYI: this is his other bite mark

Gosh, poor Cookie and poor you. The rescue should have separated before it got to that stage! You are definitely not being unreasonable asking for a refund. They should be footing the vet bill. Is it a well known rescue?
