Hi sorry if this is long but I’m concerned about Scooby’s eye. It started September/October time last year. It started out with just a tiny lump that you could only notice if you pulled his eye back so I took him to the vets and got given some eye drops (sorry I can’t remember the name). They worked a tiny bit but it was still there so we took him back again and he saw a different vet, he said that because it wasn’t bothering him that we should just leave him be which we did. A few days ago I noticed it has got bigger and you can notice it without pulling his eye back. It doesn’t seem to bother him at all, he’s eating perfectly fine, drinking, going to the toilet and even still chatting a lot. He seems happy but I hate the thought of leaving it if I am making it worse for him. I was just wondering what it could be as it doesn’t look like hay poke and nothing is in his eye. Does anybody know any home remedies or eye drops we could try? I will take him back to the vet if necessary but it will be hard because of lockdown and I don’t have much money to spend right now because of it. Thanks.

That's not a hay poke ulcer as they just appear on the eye itself as cloudiness. It's also not pea eye, so looks like it might be cherry eye, which they tend to give antiinflammatory eye drops for. Did your vet say what it might be?

Hi!

Please see your vet for a potential conjunctivitis. What you are seeing is one of the prolapsed glands that surround the eye.

No my vet had no idea and just mentioned it might need removing if the eye drops didn’t work which they didn’t. When I took him back again they still said to leave him as it’s not bothering him. I am going to phone a different vet later I think though as I am really worried.

It looks like an inflamed cojunctava to me. I suggest you take him back to the vets for a check up.

My late Enoch used to suffer from conjunctivitis and his cojunctava used to Inflame like that.

He was given eye drops that I had to administer 6 to 8 times a day

Keep applying the eye drops as they are for a conjuctivitis but see a vet if there is no improvement after 5 days.
