Hi

Please have your guinea pig seen by a vet as soon as you can get an appointment. This cannot wait for two weeks.

The eye itself looks actually very indrawn and watery (sign of pain) but the conjunctiva (the connective tissue surrounding the eye) looks very pink and swollen.

I agree, that looks very sore. His eye needs to be seen asap. It can’t wait a couple of weeks.

I hope he is ok

Update: he got medication, hoping for a speedy recovery. Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes for this to heal? His eye currently is looking A LOT better, but redness in eyelids and his eyes look a bit cloudy.

Oh good, I'm glad he got in! Did they say what it is? What meds? I had a piggie with hay poke and it took a decent amount of time because it covered a large surface area. But another healed quickly, just a few days.

hello!

So he has an ulcer, unfortunately. He was given meloxicam and tobramycin ophthalmic solution for 10 days; he has a recheck after that. Doctor said with his medication, he should be able to recover fast :)
