My little buddy here has a scab on his waterline on his eye. It was just crust and then it came off and now looks like this red spot right under his eyeball. Here is the picture: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nIRO5exSq-1ixbIu8S6aSsWTKiNj-Q3F/view?usp=sharing I did not know how to upload it so I just downloaded it to Google Drive. Please let me know if you know what this is! This little guy is my whole world so I would rather be safe than sorry. Just making sure its nothing to really worry about. Thanks!

Please have him seen by a vet. It could be as a result of a skin infection or a scratch (either by himself or from his cage mate) but it ought to be checked by a vet to ensure any treatment that may needed is provided.

:agr:Please get him seen by a vet.

Just be wary, because sometimes fungal infections show up in strange places like round the eyes or nose. If is is fungal you will need to take precautions when handling as it is one of the few conditions that is transmissible to humans. I’m not saying it is fungal, just that you need to be wary in case it is. You won’t know until you see a vet.

Hi

Can you copy/paste the picture into your next post or try to upload via the Attach Files button underneath your post on the left when you write it?

Have a look at our ringworm pictures and see whether that is what your piggies have. With highly contagious and species jumping ringworm good hygiene is paramount. Please follow the detailed tips in our guide in order to prevent it from turning into a long running saga if your guinea pig is diagnosed with it. In nearly 15 years of existence we have had time on this forum to work out all possible angles of transmission and have had plenty of experience (our own and that of many people seeking help) to learn which treatments are best and which are much less effective.
The second link contains information on your customer rights as ringworm is typically a problem in newly bought pet shop piggies.

However, without a working picture we can unfortunately only guess, so please do not home treat on spec. You can reclaim any vet cost from any pet shop as part of your customer rights for having been sold damaged ware. The big US chains will accept any complaints and liabilities for the first month after purchase if you present the vet bill together with your sales receipt.

received_1029092404193410~2.jpeg My guinea pig Boo, had this around 2 months ago I think, it did look like yours originally though I think and it wasn't really noticeable for a while and then one day it just looked like this. I originally just got the wrong diagnosis but I always presumed it was what the vet said it was as it started to clear up. Then all of a sudden I developed ringworm on my chest, where Boo accidentally scratched me a few times. If it is ringworm you need to apply a strict hygiene routine, always make sure you're covered up, abd always wash your hands before and after etc. Good luck!
