Eye Problemp

Right eye:

Left Eye:












My guinea pig, Oreo, has a problem with her eyeballs.

Problem 1: Whenever I come back from school, I go to her cage to check up on her and I see crusty stuff in her left eyeball. What is it?


Problem 2: Her right eye is bigger and more juicer, it sticks out a lot. The left eyeball though is more dry and doesn’t stick out.

Please see a vet as soon as possible! Eye problems are not something that can wait for long as they can deteriorate very quickly and can mean loss of an eye.

Your piggy has either got a protruding eyeball (glaucoma or abscess behind the eye) or an eye injury and an eye that is drawn in discomfort/pain.

I agree that your piggy needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. Eye problems can’t wait.

Thank you for the advice, the vet has Oreo right now and she will be given back to me when she’s healthy.
