I noticed today that piggles had a swollen gooey eye and is having a hard time walking around the cage because of it, I'm not sure what to do since there is no guinea pig vets open on Saturdays near me, the nearest we could get would be Monday. What can I do in the meantime?

As eye treatment is the same for all animals, I would try and get him seen by any vet as soon as possible. Hopefully it will be something simple.

I found a piece of hay lodged in her eyelid, I'm unsure if the hay was the cause since her other eye is watery, but I will try to get her seen in a timely manner

Update: it was a big piece of hay lodged in her eyelid, we will be taking her to the vet this week for a general checkup and a checkup for her eye. After the hay was removed her eye is returning to normal.
