Hi all, I hope you are having a good weekend.
Our little Winnie has hay poke and is on chloramphenicol eye drops (the ones you keep in the fridge). She squeezes her eye tight as soon as we go near to apply the drops and most of it misses but we’re managing to get some in each time. The trouble is her eye seems to water quite a lot after the drops go in and she sits with her eye mostly closed for quite a while afterwards. (She does still manage to eat while she’s sitting there, despite the trauma of the eye drops and I’ve seen her open her eye a bit to look for the food ).
Is it normal for the drops to make their eyes stream? Is this going to be diluting the effect of the meds or washing is straight back out?
She is due a follow up next week at the vets too.
Many thanks
