Over the past few days, my piggie has been secreting a creamy gooey discharge from his eyes. This happens to him every now and then but it has never accumulated to this amount. Noticing the build up, I decided to try and wipe round his eyes with a q-tip and some cotton balls soaked in water. As you can see it really made no difference as most of the discharge has already hardened and gunked up his eye. Should I take a trip to the vets?
That’s a photo of his eye.

Please see a vet within 24 hours of you noticing a non-bleeding eye injury, ideally on the same day. Ulcerating eye injuries can deteriorate very quickly and will generally be seen by UL vets as quickly as they can. The drawn in eye means that he is in pain as well as having an infection in it.

Poor piggy. Sending them healing vibes for a speedy recovery. Good luck at the vets.

Anything to do with the eyes requires a vet trip. It looks very sore. Let us know how you get on.
