Hi everyone, my guinea pig Layla seems to have some eye crust! It's dried whiteish-yellow crust. I just introduced her to my other guinea pig, Cookie, and noticed that Layla had a few sneezes, (around 10 in 1-2 hours). She seems to be eating and drinking properly, but I'm afraid she might have a URI. How can I tell? Should I bring them both in for a vet visit?

(I bought Layla from PetSmart and Cookie from Petco - I know that it's better to adopt, but please bear with me as I am a new pet owner!)

Hi! It doesn't look like a URI crust to me, but it is never amiss to have any new guinea pigs vet checked and their gender double-checked.
What to check and look out for in new guinea pigs (vet checks, sexing, parasites&illness)

Taking the two to the emergency vet right now. The crust got worse and I’m sure it’s a URI.

Hope all goes well.
It’s always better to go to the vet and be told it’s nothing serious that to leave it too late.

Keep us posted and welcome to the forum.
Layla is stunning
