I have a 2 year old guinea pig. I took her to the vet a couple weeks ago because her right eye was bulging (I’ll attach a picture) the vet had a look and says it looks like she has poked her left eye with hay causing an ulcer. The vet said that because Rosie is in pain with her left eye, it’s sinking in and causing the right eye to bulge out. I was given antibiotic eye gel to put on 2-3 times a day. It’s been a couple weeks now and the right eye is still bulging and it looks like the left might be too but I’m not too sure yet as it could have been the way I was holding her to try and check it. There is no cloudiness of either eye and she is eating, drinking and pooping as normal. Any advice or ideas what this could be? Should I get back in touch with the vet?

That sounds an odd thing to suggest, that one eye sinking could make the other bulge- they aren't that close.
A bulging eye could be an abscess behind the eye. There maybe other possibilities though, so hopefully one of the health specialists will be able to advise shortly.

I thought that but the vet said that when they put dye in to Rosie’s eyes, there were 2 little ulcers on the eye that wasn’t bulging which is why she suggested about it sinking in because Rosie is in pain with it. But when I look at that eye now, I feel like it is starting to bulge but I don’t know if it’s just me or not. I’m going to email the vet again to see what they suggest.
